How Jimp protects personal information
Our privacy governance policy, in plain words. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
- Who’s responsible. Shahmir Naveed, founder, is the person in charge of protecting personal information: support@jimpapp.com, or by mail: Jimp — Privacy, [MAILING ADDRESS], Ontario, Canada.
- Who can see personal information. Only Shahmir Naveed, and only to run, fix or keep Jimp safe. Every access to the database uses a personal login with two-factor sign-in.
- New features. Before we build anything that collects new personal information, we write a privacy impact assessment and choose the most private default.
- Providers. Each service provider that handles personal information for us has a data processing agreement. Before sending information outside Quebec, we assess the protection it will get there and keep that assessment on file. The providers are listed in the Privacy Policy.
- Profiling. “Personalise Explorer and Shop” orders posts and products from what you look at and tap. It is off by default in Quebec, and anyone can switch it on or off in Settings → Privacy.
- How long we keep things. See “How long we keep it” in the Privacy Policy. Data is deleted or anonymised at the end of each period.
- Incidents. We keep a register of every confidentiality incident. If one creates a risk of serious harm, we tell the people affected, the Commission d’accès à l’information and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- Requests and complaints. Write to support@jimpapp.com to see, correct, get a copy of or delete your information, or to complain. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information (Quebec) or the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- Under-18s. Private settings by default, and nothing of theirs is used for training without their yes (and a parent’s OK at 13–15). Their photos and Daily 10 picks are never used.
